Morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima. Embark to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Enjoy the sceneries along roads with farms, small villages, mountains and get immerse in the Andean culture.

The first stop will be the village of Chinchero, where a local family will teach you about the process of weaving textiles. We will enjoy a box lunch and then continue to the salt pans of Maras, a place owned and worked by the local farmers since pre-Columbian times.

After that you will head to Moray where you can explore the impressive construction of circular terraces used once as an agricultural laboratory. Transfer to your hotel in Ollantaytambo.

After having a nice breakfast, we will start the descend through the amazing canyon. Descend towards the Apurimac river to Rosalinas(1535 m) (3 1⁄2 hrs) . Cross the bridge to the other side of the canyon. Ascend on a switchback trail to Santa Rosa local farm (2200m) where we will stop for lunch . The trail climbs upwards, again with sections of switchbacks, through lush vegetation and cloud forest up to Marampata (2918m) where our camp is located. Enjoy the mountain views and the sunset at camp.

We climb to cross the Abra San Juan (4150m) and climbing up to the pass we will have the chances to explore interesting old colonial silver mines of Mina Victoria. At the pass of San Juan we will have spectacular views of the peaks of the Vilcabamba mountain range. We will take sometimes to enjoy the nature that surrounded us and maybe spot some condors flying around. Descending to the north into the Rio Yanama Valley, we follow a high trail which traverses steep slopes with very colorful views. We camp at the charming Andean village of Yanama (3580m).

We ascend through the Yanama Valley, passing along local houses and some herds of llamas, alpacas and sheep. Again, we follow ancient Inca trails as we wind upwards steadily to the highest point of our trek. At the pass (4660m) we will have the chance to see the stunning glaciers of Salkantay and Sacsayraoc from the distance. Then we descend on alternating sections of trail and dirt road until we arrive to Hornopampa village. From here it’s a short walk to the community of Totora (3400m) where our camp is located.

Today we will trek along an incredible path that offers a great range of changing sceneries as we descend almost 600m from the high-altitude trails down into the semi-tropical environment of the valleys below. We will arrive to Collpapampa village (2800m) where a car will pick us up to take us to Lucmabamba coffee plantation where we enjoy lunch and have a great demonstration of coffee making. As an optional after lunch, we can go to the beautiful hot springs of Cocalmayo. At night we will have a great dinner, traditional meal called PACHAMANCA, cooking the meals underground.

Our final day of trekking take us through the lush vegetation of coffee and tropical fruit plantations. We are soon climbing through pristine cloud forest and join another ancient Inca trail leading to Llactapata (2740m). We will also have a truly amazing view of Machu Picchu as we approach from the back of the Inca citadel, a sight very view visitors to the area are afforded. We then descend into the Aobamba Valley and the Hydro plant from where we will enjoy the spectacular train journey on the railway to Aguas Calientes.

After a nice breakfast we will take the bus up to Machupicchu (2400 m). Our guide will lead us through this spectacular site to explore the mysterious Inca citadel. After an interesting guided excursion and picture taking time, we return to Aguas Calientes town to enjoy a very nice lunch. In the afternoon we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo and then our transport will take us to Cusco City.

If the time permits, in the morning you can explore Cusco historic center and walk along its narrow streets and main square. Transfer to the airport of Cusco. Time to say good bye to Peru!
